LAWANT's first feature screenplay (Pallas, a sci-fi thriller dealing with the tensions between humanity and technology) was optioned immediately.
This was followed up with sophomore feature (Judith's Journey), a story which tackles grief and the inherent loss of control through the lens of metafiction, followed by FGI, a horror-action-comedy, and Parallax, a queer science fiction romance. After that came a horror script based on contemporary societal gender tensions (Onryo) and a story inspired by the true history of the Dutch Special Forces in Iraq (Day Six) which is currently in pre-production, aiming to shoot late 2023.
From a young age,
LAWANT
felt a certain kind of isolation and ‘otherwordliness’ due to their neurodiversity. Learning to understand the world around him
and the people in it was a far more conscious effort than it arguably is for most people. In turn, this has helped to understand people in such a way as to be highly beneficial in his writing. Further, hyperfixation on fiction has not only helped
LAWANT
greatly in understanding the workings of narrative, but this sort of obsession also gives a unique focus on every single project
LAWANT
works on.
Besides these projects,
LAWANT
is also currently working on a slew of other projects, but at this point you're probably bored of reading about it. If not, feel free to reach out and we'll tell you all about it.
